Holiday Inn Express & Suites Norfolk Airport by IHG

This is a OK hotel, it’s modern looking but pretty dirty from I think mostly worker people walking in and out. Their rooms are very big and extended. Although my sink water pressure was low. They have fresh bean to cup coffee and utensils out near the breakfast area if you need any.

Unexpected stay here after a flight cancellation. Room size and comfort was a welcome surprise. Clean and spacious! Check in was good experience. Breakfast had good options, and was mostly well stocked. We are club level member and at 9:11 am inquired at the front desk for a late check out. The clerk said if we would’ve asked by 9 AM they could’ve accommodated, but since it was after nine they couldn’t oblige because housekeeping had started cleaning the rooms. We returned to our room and checked out at the standard 11 AM and there was no cleaning person on the floor at that point. Felt like this request could have been fulfilled in some capacity by compromising to allow us to stay until the cleaning person reached the floor or near our room.

We were able to get a last minute room here due to unforeseen circumstances at our previous hotel. The staff knew we were coming , but we were made to feel as if there might not be a room available when we came in the door. The room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning. The staff working breakfast was diligent in keeping things cleaned up. The checkout staff was much more friendly than the staff at check-in. We enjoyed our quick overnight and happy to have a new hotel on our list of "go tos".

Ms Ashley at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. Our family traveled in from Louisiana and she checked us in our first night with genuine kindness and consideration. She provided extra blankets for our family and other guests without any hint of irritation and never tried to make excuses to justify something lacking in a guest’s room. Her bubbly and genuine personality made everyone feel that she was sincerely sorry for any inconvenience, but not to worry she would quickly make it right. I saw her the next morning when I came down for breakfast energetically greeting quests and answering questions with her same bubbly presence. We have been to several hotels where staff checks people in and gets them what they need but never makes anyone feel good and seems inconvenienced. This was never the case with Ms Ashley. Our family of four really appreciated the extra effort she gracefully puts forth and I hope others realize this is not always the case with hotel staff.

The front desk person Jamal is so polite. He welcomed me with a big smile and was very polite and happy to help with anything. I absolutely love coming to places where the first person you meet is friendly happy to help and welcomes you with a smile! Let's get Jamal to be the face and the expectation of every Holiday Inn in America!! I have zero complaints and I can't stop smiling because of how he welcomed me! That's just the welcome. The room is so clean and nice. I got the top floor with an amazing view of the setting sun. Seriously I can't stop being so impressed with this hotel and cleaning staff and welcoming staff!Thank you my friend and God bless!!

From check-in to check-out, the property demonstrated a strong commitment to cleanliness, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. The hotel was well-maintained, fresh-smelling, and orderly, and our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, allowing us to finally relax after a stressful evening. I would like to specifically recognize Jamel, who assisted us upon arrival. He was professional, courteous, and efficient, and handled our check-in with genuine care and attention. His demeanor and customer-first approach reflected extremely well on the IHG brand. This property operates at a high standard and clearly prioritizes operational excellence and customer experience. We are very grateful to have found it and would confidently recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers visiting the Norfolk area. This is hospitality done right.

Wonderful clean hotel with super nice staff! Room was immaculate! Brought us extra towels! Great free breakfast in the morning! Nice pool! No hot tub! Quite near lots of restaurants and services! Kindest staff I have encountered in a long time!
